UNM Opt-Out
The Opt-Out application enabled University of New Mexico employees to complete an online request not to have personal information revealed in compliance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act.
It was built with coordination provided by project leaders and key UNM officials in 13 days to coincide with a pending ruling by the UNM Regents. It included functionality that enabled searching and batch entry by department administrators.
- Client: University of New Mexico
- Tools: Oracle, Toad, PL/SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
- Status: Complete/Active

Users filled out a simple form. Results were stored in a backend Oracle database.

AJAX was used to instantly look up names for verification as IDs were entered into the batch entry screen.
Feedback
"I wanted to personally thank you and the rest of your staff for your dedication and diligence on the IPRA opt-out procedures. I understand that this project took a lot of time and hard work. I also understand that, as of this point, the project has gone very smooth with no major glitches."
- David J. Schmidly, UNM President to Moira Gerety, Director Information Technology Services
"The HR Service Center is shocked and amazed (and proud) to state that we received the average number of calls today. No noticeable increase due to the opt-out. I suppose we just made the instructions too clear and the process too easy to follow."
